Margaret Mills Coon
Margaret Mills Coon, 87, of Mars died Monday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.
Born in Richland Township on Nov. 23, 1919, she was the daughter of Walter and Lillian Anna Stoecklein Mills.
She worked as a packer for Pittsburgh Cut Flower, and worked as a sales clerk for Weaver Hardware in Mars.
Mrs. Coon was a member of the Valencia Presbyterian Church and the Mars VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Marion Toomey and her husband, David, of Valencia, Ruth Paracca of Warrendale, and Geraldine "Gerry" Tisdale-Francione and her husband Lou, of Valencia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Hornick and Bessie Rowan, both of Mars, Florence Lawther of Gibsonia, Joan Allman and Lillian McWilliams, both of Valencia; two brothers, John "Jack" Mills of Bakerstown and Edward Mills of Elderton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Coon, whom she married on Aug. 19, 1937, and who died on March 31, 2000; a sister, Jean Adams; a brother, Walter Mills Jr., and a granddaughter.
<B>Coon</B> — Friends of Margaret Mills Coon, who died Monday, Sept. 13, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Gary Weston officiating.
