Lois V. Karenbauer, 79, of Chicora, recently of the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, died at 5:24 a.m. Tuesday.

Born Jan. 11, 1928, in Millerstown, now Chicora, she was the daughter of Lester A. and Dora E. Emminger Moore.

She was a graduate of Hooker High School, where she was voted best looking and had worked at Western Auto and Magnetics in East Butler.

She was a member of St.Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, was very proud of her family and loved socializing with her friends and relatives.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Londa Yancer Chamberlin and her husband, Bruce, of Virginia; a son-in-law, Joseph Houten of Florida, father of her grandchildren; two grandchildren, Mrs. Shannon Hartman and her husband, Terry, of Slippery Rock and Brent Houten and his wife, Beth, of Florida; five great-grandchildren, Josie and Walker Hartman of Slippery Rock, and Thaddaeus, Madeline and Gwenyth Houten of Florida; a brother Lester L. "Bud" Moore and his wife, Mary, of Chicora; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn McDevitt, Marybelle S. McGregor and Mrs. Eleanor Eakis and her husband, William, all of Chicora.

Her husband, Ralph N. Karenbauer, whom she married Jan. 20, 1947, died Jan. 6, 1999. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry A., Clinton A. and Clyde E. Moore.

<B>Karenbauer</B> — Friends of Lois V. Karenbauer, who died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Huber, pastor of the North Street Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joesph Cemetery, North Oakland.
