Donna M. Young
Donna M. Young, 58, of North Oakland died at 10 a.m. Monday at her home after an illness.
Born in Butler, June 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Frances Penor Slater.
She worked at Prime Time Video in Bon Aire for 11 years and was a babysitter for 18 years.
Mrs. Young was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, where she was a member and president of the Christian Mothers and secretary of the church council.
She enjoyed golfing and being with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Leo P. Young, whom she married Oct. 19, 1968; a daughter, Jill Geibel and her husband, Aaron, of Butler; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Young and Jennifer of Copley, Ohio, and Keith Young and Carrie, and Eric Young and Carrie, all of Chicora; and nine grandchildren, Maizie, Aidan, Malak, Jesse, Bobby, Gabriel, Abbie, Damion and Daunte.
Also surviving are five sisters, Karen Cress, Ruth Schilling and Evelyn Slater, all of Butler, Linda Slater of Leigh High Acres, Fla., and Marian Watts of Pittsburgh; five brothers, James Slater of Chicora, Robert Slater of Butler and John, Rick and Ron Slater, all of Chicora; and several aunts, uncles. nieces and nephews.
<B>YOUNG </B>— Friends of Donna M. Young, who died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, with the Rev. DePaul Ripko, O.F.M. Cap., officiating, and will be concelebrated by the Rev. Bartley Sorenson and the Rev. Steven Neff.
