Tom "Rat" Vollrath, 51, of Zelienople, died Wednesday at his home.

Born June 6, 1956, in Ellwood City, he was self-employed in lawn care service, and he assisted many business owners in Zelienople. He enjoyed drawing and bicycles, and he loved animals.

He is survived by his father, Robert C. Vollrath, and his wife, De of Zelienople; his brother, Douglas Charles Vollrath of Evans City; a stepbrother, Mark Vollrath; and a stepsister, Melissa Richards and her husband, Keith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Schaudt.
