Irma Shearer of Butler celebrated her 80th birthday Sunday with a family dinner at the Olive Garden restaurant in Cranberry Township.

The former Irma Falkner was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Sarver. She married the late William Shearer on Feb. 4, 1948.

She has two children, Cynthia Hess and Sally Rodgers, both of Butler.

She also has three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Shearer works as a bus aide for W.L. Roenigk Inc. She crochets afghans for nursing homes and veterans and enjoys spending time with family. She belongs to Faith Lutheran Church in Butler.
