John Navoney
John Navoney, 65, died Wednesday surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 10, 1942, he was the son of John and Stella Navoney and brother of Joanie Gasiorowski, (Mike).
Mr. Navoney grew up in the South Side of Pittsburgh and graduated from South Side High School in 1960. After school, John served two tours of duty with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, helping wounded Marines as a Naval Corpsman aboard the USS Repose. He again served in the Gulf War as a Naval Corpsman, finally retiring from the Navy in 1992. It was in the Navy that Mr. Navoney met his wife of 42 years, Amy Navoney. John and Amy spent several years living on the West Coast, again on the South Side and Baldwin Township, finally settling in Cranberry Township, where they lived for 28 years. John worked for Lincare as a respiratory therapist.
John's greatest love was his family, especially his children Cathie Meyers, (Michael), Chris Navoney, (Michelle), and Kelly Rosenwasser, (David); grandchildren Logan, Liam, Ava, Lex and Abby who survive him. John is also survived by a sixth grandchild who is due in March and seven nieces and nephews.
