Anthony Allegretti
Anthony S. "Tony" Allegretti, 73, of Winfield Township died at 8:48 a.m. Thursday in the emergency room at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights.
Born Dec. 26, 1933, in Meadville, he was the son of Anthony and Elizabeth Palmerio Allegretti.
He was a Catholic.
Mr. Allegretti was an art teacher at Knoch High School in South Butler County School District for 30 years before retiring in 1993.
Mr. Allegretti was an Army veteran, served during the Korean War, and received the OCC Medal Germany, the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a member of Natrona Heights VFW Post 894, where he was a past commander. He also belonged to Brackenridge American Legion Post 226 and the honorary art fraternity, Delta Phi Delta, at Indiana (Pa.) University.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and collecting guns.
Surviving are his wife, Daryl C. Craig Allegretti, whom he married Aug. 15, 1959; two daughters, Karen (Chuck) Allegretti Wagner of Washington, Pa., and Jennifer (Chris) Allegretti Deal of Bridgeville; his grandsons, Hudson and Barlow Wagner; and his granddaughter, Hannah Deal. Also surviving are a brother, Michael (Barbara) Allegretti of Meadville; a sister, Betty Torrance of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Allegretti.
<B>ALLEGRETTI</B> — Friends of Anthony S. "Tony" Allegretti, who died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at <B>DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME</B>, 324 Fourth St., Freeport. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, Washington County.Brackenridge American Legion Post 226 will hold services at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Natrona Heights VFW Post 894 will hold military honors Sunday at the funeral home following the service.
