Thomas Clair Martin, 68, of Wilmington Township, Mercer County, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday at Sharon Regional Hospital.

Born in New Castle, Lawrence County, June 17, 1939, he was the son of the late T. Gibson Martin and Olive Hunt.

He was a 1957 graduate of Wilmington High School and served in Texas and Florida with the Air Force.

Mr. Martin retired from Cooper Energy in Grove City, and he enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He also had a private pilot's license.

He was a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church in New Wilmington

His wife, Joan Byler Martin, whom he married June 10, 1961, died June 27, 2007.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan Martin Chase and her husband, Mark Chase, of New Wilmington; a sister, Carol Clark of Camp Hill; and three grandchildren, Thomas, Craig and Katie Chase.

<B>MARTIN </B>— Friends of Thomas Clair Martin, who died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. William H. Stone Jr., his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Neshannock Cemetery, New Wilmington.
