11:44 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Melissa M. Harris, 20, of Butler rear-ended a vehicle driven by Karyn L. Geracia, 32, of Pittsburgh on North Main Street. Neither woman was injured. Police report Harris was using a cell phone at the time of the accident.7:42 p.m. Friday — Anthony M. Kovocovsky, 44, of Butler was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, harassment and tampering to endanger person or property after he allegedly kicked in the door of Robert Kennedy's residence at 341 Center Ave. and grabbed Kennedy's 3-year-old daughter when Kennedy tried to remove him. After Kennedy fled outside with both of his daughters, police arrived and arrested Kovocovsky. Kovocovsky was jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond.
6:40 p.m. Wednesday — Douglas Johnston, 44, of Lyndora was charged with simple assault and harassment after police responded to a domestic call on Tuesday. He was released on a $2,000 unsecured/no contact bond.State Police, Butler12:30 a.m. Saturday — David J. Smith, 29, of Cranberry Township was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 68 in Oakland Township.11:05 p.m. Friday — Daniel G. Pollard, 50, of Eau Claire was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop on Chestnut Street in Butler.6:42 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Deena Green, 23, of Roscoe, struck a guardrail off Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Green was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.3:40 p.m. Friday — A minivan driven by Denise Brydon, 51, of Slippery Rock and a motorcycle driven by Tom Rudolph, 26, of Slippery Rock collided at the intersection of Route 8 and Duffy Road in Brady Township. Rudolph was not wearing a helmet and received moderate injuries. He was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was listed in serious condition Saturday. Brydon was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Brydon was cited for a summary traffic violation.8:05 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Devin Ekis, 20, of Chicora and a pickup truck driven by William Altman, 62, of Butler collided on Route 356 by the Planet Mart convenience store in Winfield Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Ekis, who was pulling out of the store's parking lot, was cited for not yielding to traffic.1:30 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Grant Cliquennoi, 30, of Butler wrecked on South Crisswell Road in Penn Township. He was wearing a seat belt but received unspecified injuries.Wednesday — Someone spray painted "quiet please" on the side of the storage facility at the Butler Aircraft Modelers Airfield off Jackson Road in Clay Township between Oct. 2 and 3. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.
Thursday — Someone broke into a storage shed at St. Patrick's Church in Bradys Bend Township and stole a riding lawn tractor between noon Sept. 27 and noon Oct. 4. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-543-2011.8 p.m. Wednesday — Police recovered a stolen vehicle owned by Amanda Dosch, 27, at the Church of the Brethren parking lot on Glade Run Road in North Buffalo Township. The vehicle was stolen in Kittanning.
3:15 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Andor Jobb, 72, of Emlenton wrecked on Ross Drive in Cranberry Township, Venango County, after its engine caught fire. Jobb and his passenger, Jae Brown, 68, also of Emlenton, were wearing seat belts and weren't injured. The Seneca Volunteer Fire Department doused the fire.
