Mawhinney

Thomas E. Mawhinney Jr., 38, of Portersville, Muddy Creek Township, died Wed-nesday from injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Born Dec. 2, 1968, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Kathryn L. Mawhinney-Roofner of Valencia and the late Thomas Edward Mawhinney.

A 1987 graduate of Mars High School, he was the owner and operator of Tom Mawhinney Plumbing.

He enjoyed camping, boating and "anything on wheels" and especially loved spending time with his children.

Mawhinney is survived by his mother, Kathryn L. Mawhinney-Roofner and her husband, David Roofner, of Valencia, and his wife, Shirley E. Richard Mawhinney of Portersville.

Also surviving are two daughters, Britanny Lynn Mawhinney of Cheswick and Brittany Lee Richard of Portersville; a son, Coltin T. Mawhinney of Portersville; his brother, Joseph W. Mawhinney and his wife, Keriann, of Orange Park, Fla.; his sister, Tracey J. Goupil and her husband, Robert, of Butler; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Richard of Harmony; his sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Norman Boot of Ellwood City; his two brothers-in-law, Charles Richard of Pittsburgh and Eric Richard and his companion, Anessa Riddle, of Portersville; and nieces and nephews.

Mawhinney was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Mawhinney, who died Jan. 7, 2002.

<B>MAWHINNEY</B> — Friends of Thomas E. Mawhinney Jr., who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bakerstown United Methodist Church, 5760 William Flinn Highway, Gibsonia, officiated by the Rev. Lisa Grant of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Butler.
