APOLLO — Rich Mazzocca fired a 78 and Mike Cuscino and Keith Rice shot 81s to lead the Butler County Community College golf team to a third-place finish at the WPCCTournament at The Links at Spring Church.

Potomac (W.Va.) State won the nine-team tournament with a score of 307. Westmoreland County Community College was second (322) ahead of BC3 (326).

Mazzocca finished in fifth place out of 38 golfers while Cuscino and Rice tied for eighth. The top 10 golfers earned all-tournament status.

Tony Manfred fired an 86, Greg Hilscher a 93 and David Hughes a 102 for BC3.

The Pioneers' top five finishers will advance to the state tournament, which will be held Monday and Tuesday at Penn National Golf Club in Chambersburg.
