MARS — Tam Jam 2007, a benefit for Tammy Kosich of Evans City who has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer, will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Mars V.F.W. on Mars-Valencia Road.
The event will include food, entertainment and a cash bar. Proceeds benefit the Tammy Kosich Fund.

OAKLAND TWP — Elliott Acres Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center, 135 Center Drive, will host an open barn event from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday.The event will feature demonstrations of therapeutic riding techniques, games, food and a visit at 3 p.m. by Steely McBeam. Jane Orie, R-40th, and sponsored by UPMC Passavant Cranberry, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Butler County Airport, 475 Airport Road.The event will include a continental breakfast and lunch, entertainment and drawings.
