Jake writes that I should be thankful that since a fetus has no rights until it is physiologically detached from its mother, I should be thankful my mother didn't feel the way I do. For the record, my mother is in agreement with me on this issue. For a fetus to be devoid of rights does not translate into every pregnancy ending in abortion. I have always maintained that it should be a women's decision to do what she chooses (i.e. carry the pregnancy to term or terminate) with her own body.
