1:48 a.m. Saturday — John Penrod, 33, of Butler was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment after he allegedly grabbed an unidentified woman in the parking lot of the Burger Hut II at Point Plaza Shopping Center, placed a handgun to the side of her head and threatened to kill her. Penrod was jailed in Butler County Prison.9:19 p.m. Thursday — Mark Dillaman, 48, of West Sunbury was charged with driving under the influence following a minor vehicle accident on Route 8 near Beech Road.1:37 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Richard Hare, 77, of McKees Rocks and a vehicle driven by Bryant Quinlan, 19, of Butler collided on Route 8 near the entrance to the Burger King restaurant. No injuries were reported. Hare was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
4:20 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Arik Jaymes Gallagher, 17, of Slippery Rock struck a guardrail along the north side of Route 422 in Summit Township before crossing the lanes and hitting the south side guardrail. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Gallagher told police he fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the accident. He was cited for careless driving.1:18 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Kimberly Bernhardi, 37, of Buffalo, N.Y., struck a guardrail along Interstate 79 in Worth Township while swerving to miss a deer. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.6:20 p.m. Sunday — Someone threw an unknown object off the Route 108 overpass hitting the windshield of a car driven by Krista Moik, 20, of Pittsburgh on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $800.Sunday — Someone stole an undetermined amount of money from the Clinton Township residence of Warren Mentch at 1073 Saxonburg Blvd. between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.12:15 a.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Joseph Belak, 37, of Sarver hit a telephone pole off Lardintown Road in Clinton Township before rolling over once and landing on its wheels. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Belak told police he fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the accident.Sunday — Someone stole a vehicle engine part and a Savage 410 over .22-caliber gun from the Cherry Township garage of Paul and Matthew Throm at 611 Branchton Road between Saturday and Sunday.Aug. 31 — Karl Slaughenhoupt, age unavailable, of Petrolia was charged with access device fraud after using the credit card of Trei Saeler of Slippery Rock without his permission.
4:55 p.m. Sunday — Someone dumped shingles on the berm of the North Buffalo Township property off Quarry Road owned by Robert Dantella of Cranberry Township.Sunday — Someone stole a white and green mailbox owned by Joshua Trudgen along West Winfield Road in South Buffalo Township between 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-543-2011.
Thursday — Someone stole a Dodge Dynasty owned by Andrew Fahringer of Cranberry while it was disabled along Interstate 80 in Richland Township between Sept. 16 and 20. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 814-226-1710.
5:21 p.m. Sept. 16 — Wayne Johnson, 25, of Cabot was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 422 in Shenango Township.
