BUTLER TWP — Lifesteps will host free Child Check developmental screenings for children age 5 and younger from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Meadow Brook Apartments and Townhomes, 13 Meadowbrook Lane.

Each screening takes about 30 minutes and results will be discussed with parents immediately.

The American Cancer Society and Butler Memorial Hospital will host a "Look Good ... BRUIN — Bruin Volunteer Fire Department will kick off its preteen dances for the school year with a dance from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 28 at the fire hall, 100 Fire House Drive.Dances are open to students in kindergarten through sixth grade and will be held the fourth Friday of each month.

HARRISVILLE — The Animal Partners of Butler County will host a rabies clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 29 in the pavilion at Harrisville Community Park.Dogs must be on a leash and cats in carriers.
