Dorothy E. Haefner

Dorothy E. Haefner, 74, of New Sewickley Township died Friday at her home.

Born April 2, 1933, in Bellevue, she was the daughter of Frank and Carrie Richey Beining.

Mrs. Haefner was a longtime member of St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township and was a member of the Circle Track Racing Club. She was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. She also loved gardening, flowers and quilting.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Ruckert and her husband, Denny, of New Sewickley Township, and Sylvia Bittel of Zelienople; a son, Donald A. Haefner and his wife, Karen, of Cranberry Township; a brother, Robert F. Beining of Ingomar; five sisters, Ann Smith of Ohio, Rose Spithaler of Evans City, Agnes Whann of New York, Karen Hartman of Prospect, and Debra Banks of Karns City; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Haefner, who died Aug. 25, 1992; a son, Russell Haefner, who died in 1981; and two sisters, Carrie Henry and Janet Wilson.

Haefner, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B> and Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev.
