Great Conno sign effort
I want to offer a great big "thanks" to everyone who helped at the Connoquenessing concession stand near the ballfield at the community park. These hard-working volunteers are Don and Pat Clingensmith, Bette Minto, Lisa White, Bernie Carr, Linda Smith, Cheryl Hilliard, Alice Schmit-Miller, Gerry Smith, Retta Sabish, and Diane Kreiss.
Some of the money raised was used to purchase a 4½-foot by 7-foot stone sign.
C.K. Steckman Memorial acquired the stone, engraved and painted it, then delivered it and set it on Connoquenessing fire department property at the north end of Main St. and Route 68.
A job well done by everyone.
The stone reads "Connoquenessing Borough," and includes the Indian translation for the town, "Long Way Straight." Look for the Indian head as you enter the town.
Again, thanks to everyone who helped with this project.
