Teachers

jrjan@zoominternet.net

I didn't mean to insinuate that I am not educated or have an inadequate job. I have a bachelors degree and am a full time engineer in Pgh. I travel to and from Pgh every day, rain or shine, snow or ice. There is no such thing as a snow delay in the corporate world. There is also no such thing as an across the board pay increase of 21% over 3 years anywhere else that I can think of, except maybe the NFL. Don't compare your salary to McDonalds, you're way out of line. Also, don't try to compare your job to mine. I work a full year and I get paid for that. You work, basically part time, but for some unknown reason feel you should get full time wages. Bachelors degree or not, teaching is a part time job and every teacher I know has another job in the summer. There are people in my profession who choose to work part time, and their pay reflects it. Yours, however, does not. Since the taxpayers pay your salary, the taxpayers should know what they are paying for, ie: cellphones, laptops and whatever other perks you get in addition to your salary. You do not pay my salary. My salary is based upon corporate standards. I do pay your salary, which is totally exorbitant, and the only people who disagree are teachers.
