Mueller 60th anniversary
Bertram and Ada Rose Mueller of Grove City celebrated 60 years of marriage recently with a family party at their home, hosted by their children.
The former Ada Rose Peden married Mueller on Aug. 29, 1947, at the home of the bride's parents.
They have nine children, Janet Corbett and Dr. Robert Mueller, both of Grove City; Frederick Mueller, a missionary in Siberia; Peggy Mueller Juliano of Cranberry Township; Carl Mueller of Parker; Mary Ridley of Bradford; Dr. James Mueller of Isle of Palms, S.C.; Richard Mueller of Erie; and John Mueller of East Butler.
They also have 42 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mueller is retired from Penreco in Karns City, where he worked as a cost accountant. He served as a platoon sergeant in the Marine Corps, stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. He is a member of the Marine Corps League, Bantam Detachment 743 in Butler. During the time of the Seneca Valley School District jointure, Mueller served as president of the Evans City and Jackson Township school boards and as vice president of the Zelienople Jointure. He has also been a member of the Penn-Ohio Singers Barbershop Chorus, Shenango Valley Chapter.
Mrs. Mueller is retired from the Karns City School District, where she served as a kindergarten teacher. She is the former organist and choir director of Martinsburg Church in Bruin and was a member and past president of the North Butler County Music Club and the Evans City Music Club. She gave private piano and voice lessons in her home for many years.
The couple belongs to East Main Presbyterian Church, where they have participated in the choir and the Tri-Fidelis Sunday school class. Both are former members of the Bach Society. They have sung in various other choirs and have performed various vocal solos and duets.
