The Mars boys cross country team placed six runners in the top 50 as the Planets finished third out of 36 teams Saturday at the Slippery Rock University Class AA Boys Invitational.

Mars was led by Justin Stadelmyer's 23rd-place time of 17 minutes and 53 seconds.

Grove City's Jacob Kildoo placed 17th (17:40) to help the Eagles finish fourth as a team.

In the girls' Class AAA meet, Knoch's Jolene Kunkel placed sixth with a time of 19:42.
