Earl Murdick
Earl Murdick, 82, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Butler, died Monday at the Brooksville Regional Hospital.
Born May 26, 1925, in Indiana County, he was the son of William S. Murdick and Flora Elizabeth Swearinger Murdick.
He served in the Army Air Corps and the Air Force in World War II.
Mr. Murdick was a member of the AARP, NARF, DAV, and the American Legion of Florida.
He participated in Relay for Life for several years and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Leah M. Kirk Murdick of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Ellen) J. Blair of West Lafayette, Ohio; a son, Ronald A. Murdick and his wife, Karen, of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Cheryl) L. Schaefer of Butler; three grandchildren, Eric Gerstner, Michael Schaefer and Matthew Murdick; two great-grandchildren, Talan Murdick and Ava Brewster; four brothers and their wives, Carl W. and Sally Murdick of Butler, Roy C. and Joan Murdick of Export, C. Grant and Joanne Murdick of Phoenix and Ira E. and Sharon Murdick of Butler; and four sisters, Helen E. Geibel of Butler, Naomi L. Cockroft of Butler, Doris L. Bowser of Butler, and Mrs. John (Pauline) A. Gutherie of Garrettsville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony V. Murdick, and a brother, Dale E. Murdick.
