PITTSBURGH — The Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh received a $5 million gift, bringing the institution within $5 million of its $150 million fundraising goal, officials said.

The gift from the Fine Foundation will be used to support the Museum of Art's ongoing Carnegie International exhibitions, a North American showcase for new art and artists, the museum said Wednesday.

The Fine Foundation is led by Milton Fine, Carnegie Museums trustee emeritus, who has been associated with the Carnegie Museums for more than 25 years and was elected to the board of trustees in 1983.

The $150 million capital campaign will be used to pay for an expansion of the dinosaur hall, new educational facilities and other long-term improvements and investments.
