Pakutz

Nancy Marie Pakutz, 59, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, formerly of Lyndora, died Tuesday evening at her home.

Born Oct. 28, 1947, in Butler, she was a daughter of Dorothy Burka Pakutz and the late Michael "Major" Pakutz.

She was a 1966 graduate of Butler High School; and in 1969, she graduated from the Allegheny Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Natrona Heights as a registered nurse. Later she continued her education by earning a bachelor of science degree in nursing and a master's degree in nursing science, both at Kent State University.

Ms. Pakutz became certified as a wound and ostomy care nurse and had been employed at Case-Western University Hospital in Cleveland.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

She was an avid gardener, enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and taking long walks in the park.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, she served in the Army Nurses Corps as a surgical nurse with the 95th Evacuation Hospital in Danang and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service.

Surviving is her mother of Lyndora; a brother and a sister, Dennis M. Pakutz and Mrs. William (Terri) Wyant, both of Butler; devoted friend and companion, Shirley Hemminger of Cleveland Heights; and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>Pakutz </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Nancy Marie Pakutz, who died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the<B> Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clint Bryant, her church pastor, officiating.
