Amy McCool Bliss, 40, formerly of Slippery Rock, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday after a courageous battle with cancer.

Amy was a graduate of Villa Maria College and worked as a nurse at both St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida.

Amy enjoyed traveling and will be remembered by many for the compassion shown to the patients she cared for.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Michael Bliss; daughter, Tosha Garza; and son Brian Nicholas Boughner. Also surviving are her parents, John and Mary Geary McCool; grandmother, Dorothy Butch of Girard; and sisters, Michelle Miller and Katie Byers of Williamsburg and Newport News, Va.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Alma Setters; and grandfathers, Michael Geary and Ken McCool.

<B>BLISS</B> — A memorial service for family and friends of Amy McCool Bliss, who died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, will be held in her honor at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church in Slippery Rock.
