Kathryn Charlotte "Peg" Rood, 84, of Sunnyview Home died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at Sunnyview.

Born June 17, 1923, in West Monterey, she was the daughter of Charles and Loretta Mae King Keefer.

Mrs. Rood was a homemaker; and in her earlier years, she had worked at the G.C. Murphy store.

She was a member of the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Linda) Withers of New Castle; two sons, Dennis J. Rood of Lyndora and William C. Rood of Butler; three granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Larry (Nancy "June") Hall of Natrona Heights, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley John Rood, who died Sept. 10, 1994. They were married Jan. 9, 1946.
