McPherson

George E. McPherson, 98, of Zelienople died Monday at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born Jan. 29, 1909, in New Castle, he was the son of Ira and Vida Dobbs McPherson.

Mr. McPherson was a 1930 graduate of Geneva College.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, New Brighton, where he was the former assistant financial secretary and served on the trustees and administrative boards. He also was a member of the Beaver Valley Pointer & Setter Club and the Pennsylvania Brittany Club and was a social member of the Zelienople American Legion.

He is survived by a niece, Donna Loeb of Broadview Heights, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hughes McPherson, who died March 25, 1996; and a sister.

<B>MCPHERSON</B> — A memorial service for George E. McPherson, who died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1100 Sixth St., New Brighton, with the Rev. Rico Vespa officiating.
