Tyler Armagost threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

That was the good news for the Moniteau football team.

The bad news was St. Marys rushed for 327 yards and scored two defensive touchdowns to down the visiting Warriors 49-29 Friday night.

Moniteau (1-1) fell behind 34-7 at the half and 49-7 in the third quarter before mounting a comeback against both St. Marys and the running mercy rule clock.

Armagost tossed two touchdown passes in the second half, hooking up with Josh Loos for an 11-yard score in the third quarter and with John McFadden for a 62-yard score late in the fourth quarter.

McFadden finished with seven catches for 148 yards.

Brian Tamburlin scored the first three touchdowns for St. Marys in the first 16 minutes of the game. He finished with 110 yards on 12 carries.

St. Marys also scored on an interception and a fumble return.

Clarion-Limestone 28, A-CValley 12 — The visiting Lions (1-1) scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and cruised to victory over A-CValley (0-2).The Falcons' points came on a 70-yard kickoff return by Luke Walker and a 50-yard run by Mike Himes.

Summit Academy 32, Neshannock 12 — Theo Betts was Mr. Everything for the Knights.Betts rushed for 107 yards, caught passes for 74 more yards and found the end zone three times as Summit (2-0) pulled away from Neshannock.Quarterback Tywon Newby tossed a 70-yard score to Betts and was 7-of-14 passing for 150 yards. Betts also scored on TD runs of 77 and 3 yards.

Grove City 36, Corry 0 — The Eagles (2-0) limited Corry to 33 yards of total offense. Quarterback Mike Burk ran for a touchdown and threw for a score.Chris Clark had 84 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the victory.
