Shirley Ann Smith
In memory of Shirley Ann Smith who died one year ago today September 7, 2006
Shirley,
I can't believe that it has been a year. It doesn't seem possible. One year ago you and I went shopping, I dropped you off and you said "call me tomorrow." I think so many times: if I only would have known...if I only would have known that I would never get to talk to you again, but I don't even know what I would've said. I still don't. The past year doesn't even seem real, it seems like a bad dream. I wish so many times that things were different and that you were still here with Alex. I'm sad that she won't remember you and that she won't grow up with you. I know that you would've spoiled her rotten and she would have loved you so much. You were the best Aunt to her and the greatest to me. You were sometimes the only visitor that I had all week! I looked forward to your calls and visits. I miss you so much. This year has been so hard for everyone. I don't know if it will get better. I think of you every day and I will make sure that Alex knows how much her Aunt Shirley loved her. You will be in our hearts forever.
