Dale and Bette Hartzell

Dale and Bette Hartzell of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner Aug. 2 at The Pines Tavern in Richland Township.

The former Bette Shumway married Hartzell Aug. 26, 1947, at Ward Memorial Presbyterian Church in Detroit.

They have four children, Dr. David Hartzell of Saxonburg; Tim Hartzell of Lodz, Poland; Ellen Knox of Butler and Sarah Giamporcaro of St. Paul, Texas.

They also have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Hartzell is a retired dairy farmer and is a former owner and broker of Hays and Hartzell Realty.

Mrs. Hartzell is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Community Alliance Church.
