James M. Mullner
James Michael Mullner, 62, of Meridian died Tuesday evening at his home.
Born June 7, 1945, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Frederick Joseph and Elizabeth Cook Mullner.
He graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor of arts degree and then began teaching at the Butler Catholic School. He was a partner in Ricardo's Restaurant on New Castle Road from 1972 until 1987. He also was a partner at the Outdoor Paradise Sporting Goods and two soft-serve ice cream stands, the Jolly Roger on Route 68 and Godot's Ice cream on Route 356.
From 1987 to the present, he was an English teacher at the Butler Intermediate High School.
Mr. Mullner enjoyed fishing, fly-tying, hunting, woodworking and golf and was a private golf instructor for 20 years. He also enjoyed writing, was a wildlife artist, a greeting card designer and wrote outdoor articles for the "Mountain Journal" magazine.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Mitch Mullner, whom he married May 18, 1968; a son, James M. Mullner and his wife, Shannon, of Butler; a daughter, Rebecca Neely and her husband, Jonathan, of Zelienople; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Fred Mullner of Meridian; two sisters, Betty Jean Srock of Penn Township and Elaine Hawthorne and her husband, Dr. Art Hawthorne, of Akron, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Monica Mitch of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.
