At the Penn State-New Kensington Lions Open Tuesday, the Butler County Community College men's golf team fired a 325 to defeat the hosts by three strokes, as well as Westmoreland County Community (341), at The Links in Spring Church.

Gene Hilscher shot an 80, Mike Cuscino and Butler grad Tony Manfred each had an 81, and Rich Mazzocca had an 84 for the Pioneers.

John Hook of Knoch carded an 84 for New Kensington.
