Gas tax

If you haven't heard already, they are proposing to raise the tax on gasoline so they can put more money into a bridge repair fund. Yeah right! Let's say no and make them fix the bridges with the money they have already pilfered from the general population. Remember the Johnstown flood tax? 200 million dollars a year that was supposed to be set aside for flood victims. It started out as a 6% tax on alcohol and is now a whopping 18%! Where does the money go? It goes into a WAM fund (walking around money) for the governor to give out as he sees fit too. It was diverted eons ago by legislature to it’s present state, however the name never changed probably to divert less attention. It is a tax collected in the name of flood victims and the victims don't ever see a penny of the money to my knowledge. What a great thing it would be if they did. Mill vale would have no worries right now if politicians could have kept their filthy greedy hands off of this fund. Something would have actually worked the way it was designed to. But that is old time common sense thinking which has no place in today’s modern era. I say absolutely no way do we need another tax. We also don't need a legislature in Pa. as big as what we have either, start cutting there first. I wish just one person would run on the platform of repealing the Johnstown flood tax back to what it was originally designed for. I would vote for that person for sure If that one item of business was accomplished it would be more than worth the vote. Many in office now have accomplished much less. Politicians need to be monitored and tax laws need to be protected so they can't be changed on a whim. Out of the billions of dollars the Johnstown flood tax has created over the long history very little if any to my knowledge has ever gone for flood relief to any victims. The new gas tax is just another way in my opinion to create a tax to pilfer and manipulate the tax payer who is already weary of how their money is spent. We don't need new taxes we need to better utilize and manage what we already have and we also need to change the ridiculous out of control spending and law manipulation that has been taking place for so long. What about making interstate 80 a toll road? Another issue but excuse me, didn't the tax payer pay to build this interstate? What is going on here? Regards, John
