The Butler A.M. Rotary Club and the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host a Picnic at the Playground at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Special Kids Zone playground at Alameda Park.

CABOT — A program in flint knapping will be held at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cooper Cabin Pioneer Homestead, 199 Cooper Road.Taught by Dutch Wiley, the program will focus on making arrowheads, knives and other tools.Tours of the homestead will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. the same day.For prices and details, call the historical society at 724-283-8116.
A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Butler Moose Lodge, West Jefferson Street. Takeouts will be available.Proceeds will aid in the purchase of a prosthetic leg for Rich Kuhns.
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — A Creekside Native American Gathering will be offered starting at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at Rock Falls Park, two miles south of Slippery Rock on Route 173.The event will honor Gold Star mothers and families and emergency responders.Native American drummers, food, dancers, storytellers and artisans will be on site. MARS — Missionary doctor Andrew Hall will speak at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. morning worship services Sunday at Mars Alliance Church, Route 228.Hall has been ministering to needy people in the Hope Clinic, a new hospital being established by the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Gabon, Africa.
