Community LifeThe youth of Community Life Church, McQuistion Elementary School, will gather for a back-to-school bonfire and service at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at the home of Ben Amanda Ogle.The last summer session, based on "The Way of the Master," will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Butler YWCA. Prayer will begin at 6:30 p.m.The next men's golf outing will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 25 at Krendale Golf Course. Cost is $15 and includes a cart.The annual church picnic will be held Sept. 2 at Butler Memorial Park. The Sunday service will also be moved to the park and will begin at 11 a.m.

Covenant PresbyAmber Hobaugh will speak to the congregation about her experiences in an orphanage in Kenya, at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. Matt Altdorfer and Trio will provide music for the service.The Covenant Cupboard Food Bank is requesting donations of spaghetti and spaghetti sauce for August. Baskets for donations are in the front entrance hallway on Jefferson Street. Monetary donations are also welcome.

Grace @ Calvary LutheranThe Graceful Needles group of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., has scheduled a meeting for 1 p.m. Saturday.The Youth Group will volunteer at Jenning's Nature Reserve Saturday. Hill U.P.Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will host rehearsal for the annual Men's Choir at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16. The choir is open to all men and the group will perform at the 10:30 a.m. service Aug. 19.The Hill Youth Chorale will hold its first rehearsal of the new program year from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Aug. 19. The group will rehearse for its performance at "Concerts to Munch By" at the Butler Symphony Office Aug. 22. The annual piano orchestra performance will be held during worship Sept. 9. New Life Christian MinistriesBackpacks and school supplies collected at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch High School auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, will be dedicated during the 10 a.m. Sunday service. A time of prayer for students, teachers, administrators and support staff will also be held.The Cambodian Christian Children's Choir will share a time of dance and cultural and Christian songs at 6 p.m. Aug. 18 at 127 Knoch Road, Saxonburg. Items needed include travel size toiletries, duffle bags and backpacks and new or used stuffed animals. Help is needed to prepare the meal from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Zion Church and to transport and serve the meal from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Donations of food will also be needed.
