Harold G. Washburn, 79, of Cranberry Township died Tuesday at UPMC Passavant Cranberry Hospital.

Born Jan. 30, 1928, in Miami, Fla., he was the son of the late Edgar S. and Eunice Delphine Washburn.

Mr. Washburn served in the Coast Guard during World War II and in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township, the 55 Plus group, the church choir and the Cranberry Township VFW Post 879.

He retired in 1988 as a flight engineer with Pan American World Airways after 42 years and was a member of the Clipper Pioneers, the Pan Am flight crew retirees club.

He played the trombone and baritone for the Allegheny Brass Band and sang with the Cranberry Civic Chorale.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Wood-Washburn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann and Ronzo Dziekan of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Susan Marie and Reed Viemeister of Huddleston, Va.; three sons and daughters-in-law, H. Gregg and Elizabeth Washburn of Georgia, Brian Jeffrey and Laura Washburn of Northport, N.Y., and Andrew David and Deanna Washburn of New Jersey; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, William John and Nanske Wood of Mendham, N.J.; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Linda Carol and David Novak of Beaver; a sister, Joy Gillis of Stuart, Fla.; two half-brothers, Robert Washburn of Northport, N.Y. and Edgar Washburn Jr. of Lake Worth, Fla.; and also 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Lou Washburn, who died in December 1985.

<B>WASHBURN</B>— A memorial service for Harold G. Washburn, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, will be held at noon Saturday at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township., with the Rev. Jay H.
