Malcolm 'Pete' Stewart

Malcolm E. "Pete" Stewart, 86, of Meadville died Wednesday at the Titusville Hospital.

He was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Chicora, the son of Earl Malcolm and Anna Donaldson Stewart.

Mr. Stewart was an Army veteran, who served from 1942 to 1946 during World War II and he toured in the Aleutian Island.

He was retired from Allegheny College, Meadville. He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7505 in Mars. He served as a Red Coat Volunteer at Meadville Medical Center.

Mr. Stewart also was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a brother, William John Stewart, of Butler; a step-daughter, Marie Crawford of Melbourne, Fla.; two step-grandchildren, Cindy Russell, and her husband, Dave Hunt, of Hollywood, Fla., and John Russell and his wife, Angie, of Oil City; a step-great-grandchild, Emily Russell; a good friend, Betty Muddiman of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rodgers Stewart, whom he married in March 1957; a brother, James Stewart; a sister, Hope Miller; a step-daughter, Mabel Russell; and a stepson, Charles Waitz.

<B>STEWART — </B>Friends of Malcolm E. "Pete" Stewart, who died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the <B>ROOFNER-COLLINS FUNERAL HOME</B>, Meadville. Funeral services will be at noon Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Mars Cemetery in Mars.
