5:52 p.m. Friday — Nikole Tarr, 37, of Butler was cited for leaving an accident at unattended property after a witness reported seeing a car matching Tarr's hit a sign post off West Birch Street. Police found the sign laying 20 feet behind Tarr's parked vehicle and corresponding damage to her car. She denied driving the car at the time of the accident.2 p.m. Friday — Robert Yusko of Butler reported an unknown vehicle struck his car while it was parked on West Penn Street.5:27 a.m. Friday — Francis Coy, 46, of Cabot was charged with receiving stolen property, driving under suspension, having no valid registration, having no insurance and having a suspended registration following a traffic stop by Butler Township police on Third Avenue. The license plate of the Plymouth Voyager van Coy was driving belonged to Jeannette Kriley, who reported it stolen from her vehicle while it parked at Chase Transmission on West New Castle Street on July 25.
12:37 a.m. Thursday — Township police are investigating an assault that occurred at Looney Tunes Tavern. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-285-9600 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.State Police, Butler2:15 a.m. Saturday — Jason Fresh, 28, of Bruin was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 268 in Fairview Township.12:30 a.m. Saturday — James C. McElhinny, 47, of Evans City was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 422 in Franklin Township.Friday — Someone stole four 14-inch aluminum rims and tires along with a black Craftsman portable compressor from Timothy Risinger's shed at 124 Walnut Lane in Clay Township between July 31 and Aug. 3.7:58 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Apv Pravin Patel, 20, of Ellicot City, Md., traveled into the median off Interstate 79 in Worth Township before rolling over onto its roof. Patel and her passenger, Sunny Bhatia, 23, of Bradford, Ontario, were flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of moderate injuries. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.2:30 p.m. July 29 — William Montgomery, 21, of Butler was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment after he allegedly punched Jesse Gizienski, 35, of Saxonburg in the mouth and threatened him at Kristy Klean Car Wash in Jefferson Township.8:37 a.m. July 18 — An SUV driven by Jody McEathron, 40, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by Terry Bish, 47, of Fenelton collided at the intersection of Game Reserve Road and Old Route 422 in Clearfield Township. Bish received moderate injuries. McEathron was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The East Butler Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
1:30 p.m. Thursday — Norma Claypoole, 34, of Sandy Lake was charged with simple assault after allegedly attacking James McFarland, 38, of Sandy Lake during a domestic dispute at their residence at 168 Cole Road in Sandy Lake Township.July 22 — Six suits were discovered missing from S&K Menswear at Grove City Prime Outlets in Springfield Township during an audit.Friday — Police received a complaint about a Carnegie man who is collecting money under the pretense it's for his gravely ill son, but is allegedly being used to support a drug habit. Police did not find any collections cans at the Grove City Outlet Mall as reported. Anyone with information about the man should call police at 724-662-6162.
Wednesday — Marie Walzer, 71, of Harmony reported a hit-and-run accident in which an unknown vehicle struck her mailbox off Shingle Hollow Road in Perry Township between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
