McGarvey, Rattigan

Sarah and Scott Rattigan

Butler residents Sarah McGarvey and Scott Rattigan were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Dec. 23 at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Summit Township. The Rev. Kevin McKnight officiated. A reception followed at the Atrium in Prospect.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Joan McGarvey of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Richard and Shirley Rattigan of Chicora.

The matron of honor was Danille Kobet of New York City. Bridesmaids included Regina Dull of Washington, D.C.; Megan McGarvey of Butler; Melissa Wolfe of Pittsburgh; and Lauren Packer of Erie.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was Dan Dodd of Chicora. Ushers included Todd Rattigan and Mark Rattigan, both of Chicora; Troy Zediker of West Virginia; and Brad Geither of Maryland. The ring bearer was Todd Rattigan Jr. of Chicora.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, where she earned bachelor of science degrees in international business and management. She works at Penn United Technology in Cabot.

The bridegroom graduated in 2000 from Karns City High School and in 2002 from Triangle Tech, earning an associate's degree in specialized technology. He works for Tim Booher Construction in Chicora and is a volunteer for the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department.

Following a honeymoon cruise to Costa Maya, Grand Cayman and Jamaica, the couple is making their home in Center Township.
