The Butler County Heritage Center is now open on Saturdays.
The heritage center at 119 W. New Castle St. dropped its Sunday hours and will now be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays on a 10-week trial basis, ending Sept. 22.
The center is also open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 29.
The historical society has also extended hours at the Lowrie-Shaw House, behind the Butler County Courthouse.
The house will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays, ending Aug. 29.
Outdoor club plans Saturday bike, hike
The Butler Outdoor Club will gather for a bike ride at Goddard State Park and a night hike on the south shore of Moraine State Park on Saturday.

A softball game will be held at 6 p.m. today at Butler Memorial Park to benefit the Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center Programs.The event will include 50/50 raffles, a Chinese auction and food.

Family Services of Butler Memorial Hospital is holding a Back to School Clothing Drive for families in the community.The agency is collecting used clothing, size 3 and larger.
