Capitalizing on the hot, humid weather on Friday, July 21, 1972, were, from left, Paula Stephenson, 10, Kathleen Smith, 8, and Wendy Walls, 9.The girls decided to offer refreshments to travelers in their neighborhood to raise money for material to make skirts. The girls are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Stephenson of 299 Oak Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Smith of 301 Old Plank Road and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Walls of 303 Old Plank Road.
