PENN TWP — Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Rockdale Road, will host a car cruise from 3 to 8 p.m. July 28 to benefit Jim Bumbarger, who is awaiting a heart transplant.

Food will be available and a silent auction, bake sale children's activities will be held.

Show cars may arrive starting at 2 p.m.

SLIPPERY ROCK — A quilt show will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Center United Presbyterian Church.The free show, sponsored by the Fabric Sewing Center, will include full-sized quilts and wall hangings made in classes taught by Louise Smith and Eileen Datt.The church is located on the corner of Franklin, Maple and Center streets in Slippery Rock.

The Butler Public Library, North McKean Street, will host a free storytelling program for children of all ages at 10 a.m. July 23<B>.</B>Storyteller Lethan Candlish will present "Tales of Mystery" in the program called "Get a Clue about Folklore and Storytelling."For information, call the library at 724-287-1715 or visit www.bcfls.org/butler.

HARRISVILLE — The Autumn Grove Care Center, in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association, will offer classes on brain health at 7 p.m. July 25.The free class called "Maintain Your Brian — How to Live a Brain Healthy Lifestyle" will be held at the center's business office, 536 S. FAIRVIEW TWP — A reunion for former Joint School students will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 28 at the Frogtown Wildlife Club, Kaylor Road.Participating alumni of the former one-room school, should take finger foods and a white elephant gift to share.

FRAZER TWP — The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will host a star party at 8:45 p.m. July 21.The observation will be held, weather permitting, at the Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park.The free event is designed to give amateur astronomers, students and the general public a chance to observe the summer sky as well as learn how to use telescopes and star charts.For information and directions call 724-224-2510.

ELLWOOD CITY — Abenefit concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. July 21 at the Ellwood City Moose Club to benefit the family of Mark Matiko, who was killed in a motorcycle accident.The show will feature bands Lakewood Road and Splendor Field.Admission is $5 per person. For details, call 724-658-4129.
