James A. "Bunsy" Gardner, 79, of Hooker Road, West Sunbury, died Friday at the home of his daughter.

Born March 30, 1928, in Butler, he was the son of William A. and Florence L. Baney Gardner.

Mr. Gardner served in the Navy during the Korean War and was retired from the Food Gallery Bakery, Pittsburgh.

He was a member of the North Street Christian Church.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, horses, baseball and his family.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Gardner, whom he married Dec. 1, 1951; two daughters, Sheri Hays of Prospect and Mrs. Scott (Robin) Fishcer of West Sunbury; two grandsons, Ryan Hays of Prospect and Hunter Hays of Butler; two nieces; and three nephews.

A daughter, Tammie S. Gardner, died Oct. 20, 2006.
