Dave Knechtel lined a one-out RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Cranberry Township a 5-4 victory over Evans City in Eagle County Baseball action Friday.

Hugh Mulvey had singled and advanced to second on an error before Knechtel's winning hit.

Cranberry Township led 4-0 after two innings before Evans City answered with one run in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth to even the game at 4.

Elsewhere:

• Mars erupted for 14 runs in the third inning to help propel the team to a 23-2 five-inning victory over Wexford.

Six players had at least two hits and two RBI each, led by winning pitcher Chris Kelly, who had two singles, a double, home run and two RBI.

• Shaun Butler struck out 11 batters in a complete game in Saxonburg's 16-5 win over Harmony.

Sandy Sanderson homered and Brendan Malone collected four hits, including two doubles, for Saxonburg.
