George and Gloria Sweeney

George and Gloria Sweeney of Petrolia celebrated 50 years of marriage recently.

The former Gloria Miller married Sweeney June 17, 1957, at Chicora United Methodist Church.

They have three children, Vicki Hefferan of Butler, Rich Sweeney of East Brady and Jeff Sweeney of Chicora. A daughter, Tami Sweeney, is deceased.

They also have 10 grandchildren.

Sweeney is retired from Indspec Chemical in Petrolia, where he worked as a carpenter.

Mrs. Sweeney is retired from Karns City School District, where she worked as the director of food service.

The couple belongs to Petrolia Presbyterian Church.
