Barron 50th anniversary
John and Beverly Barron of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage recently. An open house in their honor will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the couple's home, 259 Elm St.
The former Beverly Mackey married Barron June 7, 1957, at Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.
They have four children, Julie O'Connor of East Norristown, Daniel Barron of Slippery Rock and Brenda Snider and Maddy Coon, both of Grove City.
They also have five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Barron is retired from the Carpenters Union 2274. He is a retired gold card member of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company.
Mrs. Barron is retired from the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV. She enjoys swimming and golfing.
The couple belongs to Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.
