2:55 p.m. Thursday — Three women were arrested in connection with the theft of numerous video games at the Wal-Mart store in Butler Commons.Charged with retail theft and conspiracy were Melanie Kaplin, 18, of West Sunbury; Melissa Miller, 19, of Hubbard, Ohio; and April Ferguson, 20, of Emlenton. Police also cited Ferguson for possession of drug paraphernalia.
1:11 a.m. Sunday — Jeffrey Murray, 44, is accused of assaulting Marcy Pritts, 30, during a domestic dispute at their East Jefferson Street apartment. Police charged Murray with simple assault and harassment.2:01 a.m. Saturday — Shawn Oleary, 22, of Penn Township was arrested for driving under the influence on South Main Street. Oleary also was cited for driving without headlights on.8:40 a.m. Saturday — An unidentified Chevrolet Astro van, maroon with gold trim, struck a car on North Main Street, and did not stop following the crash. Robert Bailey, 47, of Harmony was driving the car.7:50 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Donald Keefer, 53, of Summit Township and a car driven by Lynda Philips, 37, of Butler Township collided at West New Castle Street and Hansen Avenue.Police said Philips, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Keefer was cited for making an illegal turn.9:04 p.m. Wednesday — Police said Ryan Ivancik, 20, of Center Township was injured when he crashed his motorcycle while doing a "wheelie" on North Main Street. Ivancik, who was wearing a helmet, was treated for minor injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital; he was cited for careless driving.
5:45 a.m. Sunday — An unidentified vehicle hit a building at 139 Unity Road in Cherry Township, and drove off after the crash. The building, owned by Sherburne Jamison of Emlenton, was damaged in the accident.Police said the unknown vehicle is possibly large, dark green and has damage to its passenger side. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run, is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.12:33 a.m. Sunday — Jasen Whitacre, 30, of Duncanville, Texas, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 in Penn Township.12:30 a.m. Sunday — Richard Kline III, no age given, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 138 in Clay Township.5:08 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Verna Holmes, 71, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County and Charles Dickson, 45, of Lyndora collided on Route 356 near Caldwell Road in Jefferson Township.Saturday — Several hand tools were stolen between 5 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday from a cargo trailer in a burglary at the Welter Road home of Timothy Welter in Donegal Township.June 11 — Six packs of cigars were stolen between 5 and 7 p.m. in a burglary at the Hilltop Lane home of Michael Conlon in Connoquenessing Township.11:43 p.m. June 10 — Sport utility vehicles driven by Kurt Reichard, 24, of Sarver and Gregory Haduch, 47, of Natrona Heights collided on South Pike Road in Buffalo Township.
8:20 a.m. Sunday — A 43-year-old Kittanning woman was injured when she lost control of her car, crashed into an embankment and rolled over on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Brenda Lee George, who was wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter with moderate injuries to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
11:20 p.m. Friday — Someone in an unidentified vehicle threw a potato at a car on Cranberry Road, between Irishtown and George Junior roads, in Pine Township, Mercer County. The potato smashed the windshield of the car driven by Janet Smoker-Kedanis, 67, of Grove City.Police said the unknown vehicle was last seen traveling west on Cranberry Road. Smoker-Kedanis was not injured.
