Pietz

Wesley C. Pietz, 50, of New York, N.Y., formerly of Saxonburg, died unexpectedly Monday.

Born Dec. 8, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Margaret McS-hane Pietz of Oakmont and the late W. Guy Pietz, who died Dec. 5, 2004.

He was a 1975 graduate of Knoch High School, attended Bethany College and graduated from the American Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, N.Y.

After spending a year as a chef in France and a short time in Washington, D.C., he ultimately settled in New York City, where he spent his career as an accomplished chef working in many well-known restaurants.

Mr. Pietz loved fly-fishing and was an active volunteer with the Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

He was the beloved husband of Maryanne Bisulca Pietz, whom he married April 5, 2002; loving father of Lauren R. Pietz of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Wesley C. Pietz III of London, England; and brother of Mark G. (Sandra) Pietz of Illinois, Julie A. (Scott) Coleman of New Hampshire, James M. (Yaimi) Pietz of Fox Chapel, and Harry G. (Maria) Pietz of Oakmont. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

<B>PIETZ</B> — Friends of Wesley C. Pietz, who died Monday, May 7, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Old Route 8, Glade Mills, with the Rev. Daniel Maurer as celebrant.
