Hazlett

Martha Jane Hazlett, 92, of Fairway Lane, Penn Township, died Thursday morning at the Sunnyview Home.

Born in Butler, June 21, 1914, she was a daughter of George and Gertrude Kaufman Hazlett.

She was a 1932 graduate of Butler High School and a 1936 graduate of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, where she earned a bachelors of arts degree.

Miss Hazlett had been a bookkeeper in the Butler Tax Office for years and retired in July 1976.

A member of the Butler Country Club, she was an avid golfer and had won the Women's Championship in 1941. She was also a former member of the Fairways Bowling League of the country club, the American Association of University Women and was a lifelong member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is a cousin, Helen Hughes of Evanston, Ill., and her three children.

<B>HAZLETT </B>— A graveside funeral service for Martha Jane Hazlett, who died Thursday, May 10, 2007, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1074 Evans City Road. The Rev. Clark Sawyer, her church pastor, will officiate. To honor her request, there will not be a visitation.Memorial donations may be made to the Blind Association of Butler, 322 N.
