Burford

Hazel M. Burford, 84, of Valencia died Wednesday morning at the LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Pine Township, Allegheny County, Oct. 30, 1922, she was the daughter of Clarence and Jennie Reichle Leisie.

Mrs. Burford retired as a secretary for the Mars United Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for years. She also had been the manager of the Evans City Senior Center and belonged to the Mars AARP.

Surviving are her husband, Maxwell H. "Max" Burford, whom she married May 16, 1953; a daughter, Mrs. Stewart (Jennifer) Kirk of Valencia; a son, Daniel A. Burford of Valencia; a stepson, Charles Burford of Cumming, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Leisie and Ruth Robison, both of Evans City; a brother, Frank Leisie of Cranberry Township, and four grandchildren.

<B>BURFORD </B>— Friends of Hazel M. Burford, who died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mars Alliance Church, Route 228, Mars, with the Rev. Paul Cope, officiating.
