Mary Trenchard Timmons, 100, of Butler died Saturday, May 5, 2007.

Born Sept. 22, 1906, in DeLand, Ill., she was the daughter of Lucy Thornton and George R. Trenchard.

She graduated from DeLand High School in 1924 and Dana Hall School, Wellesley, Mass., in 1925. She received her BA degree from the University of Illinois in 1929, and then served as assistant dean of woman.

She was married to Ray H. Timmons, who died in 1978.

She was on the board of the Presbyterian SeniorCare in Oakmont, and was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Literary Club of Butler, and the Butler Garden Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Emerson and her husband Mark of New York City; a son, George T. Timmons and his wife, Susan, of Monticello, Ill., their three children, and two great-grandchildren.

<B>TIMMONS </B>— Private interment will be in DeLand, Illinois. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E.
